About the collection

Over a period of one hundred and forty years, the collection of the Museum Prinsenhof Delft has become a diverse collection of paintings, earthenware, applied art, works on paper and modern and contemporary art. At our historic site – the former St Agatha monastery – we tell the extraordinary story of Delft on the basis of our collection. The Museum Prinsenhof Delft’s collection focuses on three themes: William the Silent, Delft Masters and Delftware.

Explore the collection

The collection of the Museum Prinsenhof Delft covers a period of more than five centuries and is very diverse: ranging from Michiel van Mierevelt to Jan Schoonhoven, and from 17th century textiles and silver to contemporary ceramics. Our collection is now accessible online, and you can admire all of our objects from your home.

History of the building and our collection

The monumental building housing the museum has a rich history. The collection itself originates from the city of Delft's art collection. Over the years, it has become a varied collection through tradition, acquisitions and gifts.
